How can I make my Xbox 360 have priority on the network?

I have a dsl connection that goes to a router, which supplies internet connections to my desktop, wireless to my laptop, and my xbox 360. Xbox live works fine as long as one of the computers isn't trying to use the internet, but as soon as you try to load a webpage on one of the computers it starts to lag. Is there anyway I can change it so that my xbox gets priority over the computers??How can I make my Xbox 360 have priority on the network?
Rule of thumb on older routers is the closest jack to the input on the router should have preference but even with that in mind once you begin sharing the data transfer with other computers etc... the speed will get divided.

I love my Xbox 360 and I had the same problem... I'd be playing then my daughter would get on line and i'd go from full bars to missing one or two. My solution was to go wireless so I got a wireless US Robotics router which also has hard line capability. I have the router closest too my xbox 360 and at first I had it hard wired to the router which worked fine and I also assigned it it's own channel. I haven't had any problems whatsoever since doing this. I then sometimes like to take my 360 to other rooms with me so the downfall was that i had to buy the wireless adapter for the 360 (84.00) and a wireless card for my computer (44.00). I have the router set so the 360 has it's own channel and anything else goes on a default channel so if my 360 is running, my desktop, and a laptop the 360 will be by itself and anything else will be on a default channel.

HINT if you get the wireless adapter get the Xbox one, it automatically will find any wireless connection and use the strongest one unless you specify differently. I bought an aftermarket one at first and you have to spend time typing codes and junk and it was a pain..

Good luck. How can I make my Xbox 360 have priority on the network?
It is a router issue, but simply loading a page shouldn't be noticable. Tomshardware.com used to benchmark routers. You may want to invest in a new one that is rated high from LAN to WAN.

QoS isn't going to help if your ISP doesn't support. Check with them too. Maybe more bandwidth? How can I make my Xbox 360 have priority on the network?
you need a router with QoS. if your router has it then you can give your Xbox's mac address more priority than other computers.

lookup DD-WRT if you got a linksys or buffalo router.
