How do I reconnect my xbox to my new computer?

I have a modded xbox (not 360) that was connected to my computer via a router so I could watch videos etc via the xbox. I just got a new computer, and now the connection doesn't work. Same router. Old computer was Windows 98, new one is Vista. I have no idea how to reconnect the two. I have reset a bunch of things ( router, modem, computer, xbox, xbox settings, ip addresses, etc.) but nothing is working. Help! I am very limited in my tech knowledge and have no idea where to go from here. I have a bunch of videos stored on my new computer, but xbox doesn't recognize them. When I go into my Xbox network settings (by the way, I am using Avalaunch), it says there is no connections. But all cables are fully connected and all devices powered up. What is happening???How do I reconnect my xbox to my new computer?
Either the firewall that vista has is blocking connection to your xbox or the files you want to share are not in a shared folder. I run a softmodded xbox as well. XBMC is great.

you can try this on the folder(s) that hold your movies and such

to make a shared folder

1. Right click the folder in Windows Explorer and click Properties.

2. Click the Sharing tab.

3. Click the Advanced Sharing button.

4. Click the Share this folder option.

5. Type in a name for the shared folder.

6. Click OK.

Then you probably want to go into the control panel and see if the firewall is on...and blocking your xbox. You can probably put the IP your xbox uses on the exclude list. That may fix your Issues.
