Xbox = wired connection %26gt; Laptop ----- wifi -----%26gt; Internet?
If so, you'd just need to enable internet connection sharing on your laptop. Google up ICS (internet connection sharing) for XP or Vista, whichever OS you are running.
You may need to reboot your router, xbox and laptop to see any changes.
