What is the difference between a regular XBox and XBox 360?

I just bought a regular XBox for my son's birthday.

I am looking for games online and see some games that are for XBox 360, Can those be played on a regular XBox?What is the difference between a regular XBox and XBox 360?
While similar in name, they are two different machines.



The original (regular) Xbox is an older machine that has been, for the most part, phased out of the market. Microsoft and other companies no longer support the product and thus produce no new games for it.



The Xbox 360 is a newer machine and its games are specific to it. Xbox 360 Games will NOT work on the regular Xbox.



I'm terribly sorry for your trouble, but the only games that will work on your son's Xbox are... regular Xbox games. Please make sure that the games you purchase are for Xbox and not Xbox 360. Xbox 360 games will usually have the Xbox 360 logo on it, which is a silver ball with a green X in the middle. The regular Xbox logo is a black square with a green X in the middle.

No xbox 360 games can't be played on the xbox. But some xbox games can be played on the xbox 360.

No they can't. The 360 is the updated version. Another way of making you spend more money to buy the newer games
Normal xbox is the older one, and as ya one says 360 has far better graphics..



Normal xbox will not play 360 games, but a 360 will play a few normal xbox games, only the real popular ones like "Halo 2"..



Get your son a 360 :D there alot better.
The X-Box 360 is much more powerful and modern machine; X-Box 360 games will only run on an X-Box 360.



But there's still a lot of life left in the original X-Box and you'll find dozens of cheap and pre-owned (I can't remember the last time I bought a new one) games at stores like GameStation, whereas X-Box 360 games are still expensive. Unless your son is a spoilt teenager and you are happy to splash out 拢350, the original X-Box is an excellent choice.



I'm 36 years old so I can afford to buy any games machine I want, but my old Playstation 2 is still plenty good enough.
NOTHING thats why it sucks so badly. get the wii
please never ask that again. 360- better graphics- more FUN games(halo 3, GOW ect.) all around better online play.
