Can I attach an ethernet cable from my computer to my xbox even if the computer is running of wifi?

So I want to hook my xbox up to xbox live but the router won't push the wifi that far. What I'm planning is to get an ethernet cable and hook it up to my computer that the wifi will reach to, and connect it to my xbox. Potentially, yes. Use Microsoft's Internet Connection Sharing service. You didn't say which edition of Microsoft you were running so I cannot be more specific for you.



However this may create a double-NAT, and possibly a require a change of subnet on your router so as to not conflict with the ICS subnet (I think it defaults to 192.168.0.0 from memory).



An alternative would be to purchase a wireless range extender. Belkin used to make these (Belkin WURE devies) for about 拢20.00 UK

the only way i can think to do so is to mod your 360 and xbox so you can connect them to your pc, then take the save data from your xbox hd and transfer to your 360 hd. but i wouldn't suggest it because, Microsoft has be cracking down on modders and been banning them from xbox live, i just started my xbox games over, this is why i like my ps3 better because i was a able to transfer all my ps2 memory card saves to my ps3. sorry if this didn't helpHow can you get Xbox game saves off an original Xbox to an Xbox 360 Elite?

If you mean original Xbox 1, the answer is no.



If you mean Xbox 360 to a new Xbox 360, the answer is yes but you need an Xbox 360 memory card unit.
if you mean put saves from a 360 to an 360 elite then you could use a transfer kit, I think you can get one from xbox.com

The Xbox 360 wireless internet adapter has to be the one for Xbox since the drivers are installed on it. It costs about $100 and you can purchase it at any electronic store: Best Buy, Circuit City, places like Target, Walmart, Amazon, Ebay, New Egg, etc.





If you have a laptop or computer near your xbox, you can run an ethernet cable from the comp. to the xbox and set your computer to share internet. I just figured this out yesterday, as I really didn't want to pay $100 for the adapter.

I just did this yesterday on my Mac and it works great. My router is not near my computer or Xbox, so I hooked an ethernet cable from my computer ethernet port to the xbox ethernet port. Then I turned on internet sharing. It should work right away...if not, you may need to configure your xbox (I had to on my Mac but I haven't seen anything for Windows to make you do it...but just in case..)

In your XBOX dashboard, go to System --%26gt; Network Settings--%26gt; Edit Settings

See the above link to see what to type in. I can to play with it some. MINE SAYS THIS:

IP Settings: Manual

IP Address: 192.168.2.2 (this could also be .2.1 at the end)

Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Gateway: 192.168.2.1 (or .2.2)

DNS Settings: Manual

Primary DNS Server: 192.168.2.1

Secondary DNS Server: (same as above)

to be sure, get a usb and transfer all your data onto the usb, it it gets erased, you can transfer it back onto the xbox via the usb

There is no way for this to happen... Ask your parents how come and tell them that you will be a responsible gamer and not go on it all the time, say that you will do extra chores too, only other option if you wanna do it the hard way is get an xbox from a shop (you don't need parental permission I don't think) but if you do make sure you bring a friend that looks older than he actually is, buy it, then when no one is home, set it up and try and put it out of view, then when people come home ask if you can put a small lock on your door for privacy... Simples :) or ask one of your relative's to buy you one or drop a hint, then your parents can't say take it back as that would be ungrateful :)
That's impossible my friend, sorry. So long as you want to have fun with it anyways. The only way you could play would be:



#1: late at night after they go to sleep

#2: home alone

#3: keep them busy with something (hardest of them all)

Use one of your friends to help you get it and then try to get it back to your place when your mom ISN'T there. If you can, put it behind something, maybe even your TV so that when you play it, also being careful that when you know who is there and who is around you, if they happen to walk in they won't see it and you can say it's a commercial or something. It'll be hard to keep a secret because they can get kind of loud when the fans kick on...

it's been speculated around 2016. Every platform producer out there has said this generation of consoles is going to hold much longer than previous generations because this generation of consoles is not only sufficiently advanced, but also with the economy recovering, not as many people are going to be prepared to make another large investment on a console, and companies realize that and plan to ride it out until the technology has become noticably more advanced than their current system. Even if we assume Microsoft beats everyone to the punch again you're looking at an estimate of around 2015~

nooo... no announcement.. "360" has to do with the angle you are spose to put It in.. the next xbox (IF they ever release one) will not be called the 720... which makes no sense.. or xbox 3.. they will probly make a completley different console.. my guess is it would come out late 2011-2013 if they do make one..
