Hey, so I'm trying to connect my Xbox 360 to Xbox Live via ethernet cable plugged into a gateway on the wall. It doesn't work however, and I don't really know what I'm doing. Do I need a router between the two, or should I theoretically be able to make this work?How to connect my Xbox 360 to the internet using a shared wired network (at Uni)?
If you are able to get Internet access from that cable to your laptop or pc, then definitely you will be able to get Internet access and from your Xbox. Probably you need to configure your networks settings like IP address, gateway and etc.. It might not be DHCP doing it all automatic..
