I want to connect my Xbox 360 to Xbox live, but i don't want to have to pay 100 bucks for the adapter. I don't have a computer neer my Xbox. However, i do have wireless internet in my house.How do you Connect and Xbox 360 elite to Xbox live without buying the $100 adapter?

run a Ethernet cord from your router right to the back of your xbox. Why pay 100 bucks for the adaptor when you can get cheap Ethernet everywhere. I use that on mine and it works great.

You can run an Ethernet cord directly from your router to your Xbox.. However a cable longer than 20 feet will diminish the signal strength and you may get dropped from games. The easiest solution is to bite the bullet and buy the wireless adapter. You can get them for about 60 bucks used.
I'm not sure that's possible. I go to college where everything is wireless and the only solution to obtaining a wireless connection was to purchase that adapter. you need the encryption key from your netgear router, it should be the same as the one u use for your computer. Just punch it in your network settings in the xbox settings menu
